Born November 30, 1959 in Lille,
Annie Delemarle began her career with studies at
fine arts, design section, industrial creation.
Passionate about the arts at a very young age
plastics, with a designer father and a seamstress mother, she discovered leather by chance during a stay in Spain.

Indeed, leather masks were in fashion.
Back home and totally seduced by this find, she then cuts into an old bag to recover the material and tries to do the same thing. Thus, she experiments, observes, learns, tries, starts again and improves her know-how.

Leather sculptor artist

about

Passionate, she developed her own technique.

His work lies between 2 areas; sculpture and leather goods. In fact, she creates sculptures using different leather working techniques.
Indeed, leather goods are the visible part of the iceberg. Inside, it's the work of an upholsterer: carpentry work for the structure. Upholstery work with foam to recreate the volumes. Clay modeling work for faces. Leatherwork for the costume. The whole thing forms an assembly of different materials. It was difficult for her to place herself between 2 worlds; craftsmanship (through the material) and art, through its sculpture technique. But once the technique has been mastered, the sculpture can express itself. From the research of the proportions of the movement, the attitude, the study of the ethnic costume emerges a figurative sculpture.

His workshop is based in the very pleasant setting offered by one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France, Monflanquin (Lot-et-Garonne). The characters that come to life thanks to his know-how invite all art lovers to travel: samurai, tuaregs, giraffe women, geishas... His sculptures are entirely handmade from selected leathers: cowhide, lamb, calf, but also crocodile, ostrich or snake.

Attracted by Japanese art

Attracted by Japanese art, she creates characters that correspond to her search for aesthetics and movement. The decorative techniques and ornamental themes are very numerous. Drapes and pleats also enter the world of mythical characters like the Tuareg.

Annie Delemarle has participated in numerous exhibitions throughout France since 1990. She started with craft exhibitions and now it is more about sculpture exhibitions.

His pieces are larger, more refined, more accomplished. She participates in exhibitions such as Ob'art Bordeaux as well as Maison et Objet, offered by art workshops of France. She also organizes her personal exhibitions.
Recently contacted by a major luxury brand, she created giant turtles for their windows at their request.

During the Maison et Objet international fair, she realized the importance of each country's search for identity. The Greek buyer, for example, asked him to create goddesses in pleated white dresses using his technique, Qatar to adapt her costume...

She currently continues her work, thanks to the world of costume which inspires numerous fields of exploration.
